Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of another fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as a Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of this tournament, beating Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority decision. Antonina Shevchenko won a second medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, the gold in 2011, and won the title of 2016. IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in at the age of 2003. Antonina won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships 2012, the Lightweight Lion Fight Championships in 2016 as well as both the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina was a part of Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas' fight for her last fight at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She took the fight by unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut was in 2002, during the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won by TKO at the end of second round. She then went on to win two more fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won Anissa Haddaoui's fight in a unified decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by unanimity. The promotion ended in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities when she clinched by knees to body. After this win, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina took part in her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision following her debut fight. Antonina returned from her loss and defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the prize of the night in the fight. Shevchenko went 2-2 in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was lastly defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
