Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 and professionally referred to by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate in conjunction with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. On the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13, she released two additional singles titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by a music video in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube in one week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
